Honestly? I am afraid that your money is LONG gone!

I would suspect that you were dealing with a West African - probably Nigerian or Ghanan - scammer and the law enforcement in those countries know that “scamming” is a profitable export industry” for the country, and does nothing really to stop it.

If the money was transferred by various gift cards - you can be sure that it has been spent and disappeared by now.

It was an expensive lesson but at least by openly sharing your experience - you might help others…
